Patchwork & Quilting – Intermediate Classes
Many people who’ve done the ‘Beginners’ course progress to an Intermediate class to learn further techniques and work on their own projects. There are three classes at present on Tuesdays and Fridays at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden. Plus a once a month weekend class run by my friend Jo Gallaway (see Links on the Homepage for her web address). They run from September to end of May and for details of current classes, dates, costs and venues, please click on the ‘New Classes for September’ link on the Homepage.
The programme is flexible for this course and based on the subjects students’ wish to learn. You may have a particular project in mind or want to learn a specific technique, so we decide as a class at the beginning of term what topics will be covered. The choice is endless! And if you’re having trouble making up your mind I have a wonderful library of books to inspire you!
Students will need to provide their own materials and bring a sewing machine, rotary cutting equipment etc.. (See also Stock cupboard info below). For some techniques like dyeing for example, we can order materials in bulk as a group.
Students are supported with handouts on the various techniques and I have a library of over 300 books available to borrow. I also keep a well stocked cupboard of essential items for students to borrow, so if you forget something it’s not the end of the world!
All venues have level access, good free car-parking and disabled facilities. If you have any specific requirements and want to talk to me in confidence please get in touch.
